It’s finally February and I couldn’t be happier! The year started well but January really dragged on. And according to Twitter, I’m not the only person feeling this way!
It’s hit me quite a lot lately that I’m just very happy at the moment! I feel so grateful for the life I’ve built in the UK, I have a great job, our house is coming together after over a year of living there, I have a great circle of local friends, and a great man I’m about to marry. I’ve been ultra positive over the past month because I think 2019 will be a great year! For this reason I wanted to share a few victories and things that have made me happy in this start of 2019.
Happy things lately:
>> We’re getting married in less than 3 months! So much still to do!
>> We rang the new year in Aberfeldy with friends. On the 1st of January, we discovered Kenmore and it was the Brit and I’s first time at Loch Tay. Then on the 2nd we drove back to Stirling through the national park and it was a lovely drive! Such beautiful landscapes. I unfortunately seem to have deleted all my photos by accident!
>> I’m finally back at the gym. The autumn was difficult with the Brit working so much, our schedules were a bit too packed, and now we’re back to working on our physical and mental health. We’re aiming to head to the gym four times a week if we have no other prior commitment.
>> My wonderful friend slash training partner and I have finally signed up to the 10K at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in May. Looking forward to a new challenge!
>> The Brit and I headed off to Gleneagles recently for afternoon tea, a belated birthday gift. It was amazing! I have a post about it coming soon.
>> I planned my hen do, which is exciting! It’s going to be a relaxed Sunday afternoon affair with some local friends.
>> I’m almost done planning the trip we’ll take with my parents and brother after the wedding. It’ll be my dad and brother’s first time in Scotland so it’s exciting! Can’t wait to show them my new home!
>> Speaking of new home, we finally got our guest bedroom done! It’s wild to have a room we’re not actively ignoring. We also ordered a new bed and mattress for our bedroom, and it’s so luxurious!
>> We’ve just received our tickets for Harry Potter & The Cursed Child play in the mail. We’re off to London for it in two weeks! I even bought a thematic jumper for the occasion.
>> We’ve also just planned a second trip down to England very soon! My mother-in-law has a big birthday coming up so we’re heading down and they are meeting us halfway in Durham for a long weekend.
>> I’ve already read my way through 4 books and am halfway through my second Donna Tartt, The Goldfinch.
How’s your 2019 going?xx
