Today I’m leaving the expat/travel posts behind to share this post that has been in my drafts for so long! The Harry Potter Tag!
So if you’ve been following the blog, even just a little, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with Harry Potter and even tried to write my dissertation on it… cough cough…anyhow, I love it! And today I’m answering the questions of the HP tag and I had lots of fun doing it!

Which is your favourite book?
This is a difficult one. The first one was just so magical – especially read at age 10! But nowadays, I have to say I love the last two books so very much! I guess I will go with the last one because there is so much pain, beauty, etc. in it!
What is your favourite film?
I loved the 3rd film and the 6th film so very much! But obviously, the last movie was the very very best in my eyes.
What is your least favourite book?
Chamber of Secrets – I hate spiders, I thought it was a bit dark for being 10 years old and overall it just wasn’t the best.
What is your least favourite film?
I think the fifth one – Order of the Phoenix. I just don’t even understand the plot of the movie. It makes literally no sense.
Parts of the books/films that made you cry?
Book : Dumbledore’s death and people’s reaction. Hagrid’s reaction in the book is just so heartbreaking.
Film : Dobby’s death. It gets me every time.
If you could hook up with any character, who would it be?
…define hook up? I love to hang out with Luna!
Who is your favourite character?
I think Luna is absolutely amazing – unique and quirky and not caring what people think. Book Ginny is also amazing!
Who is your least favourite character?
Dolores Umbridge – she is so realistically horrible, it infuriates me every time! Peter Pettigrew is also very high on my list – he’s what scares me in humanity, the weakness and selfishness.
What is your favourite line?
aaaah so many amazing Dumbledore quotes, but this one yes…
What would your Patronus be?
A turtle…or a cat, probably.
Which house would you be in?
Ravenclaw all the way! I’m that kid who loved school too much, and continuing into academia just says a lot.
If you were on the Quidditch team, which position would you play?
I think I’d be a good beater haha…not sure what that says about me…
If you could have the resurrection stone, invisibility cloak or elder wand, which would it be?
I learn from tales – the cloak, thank you!
If you could meet any member of the cast, who would it be?
I’d love to meet the main trio, all together, I think it’d be a fun encounter. But let’s be honest – Alan Rickman would be my first choice!
Were you happy with the ending?
Ending yes. Epilogue no.
How much does Harry Potter mean to me?
Harry Potter is my childhood. It’s believing in magic, in good winning over evil, and the hope of a better future. It was so many beautiful lessons about individuals and also about society, economics, mobs, etc. It has also defined so many of my great friendships. I will probably reread and rewatch the books and movies for the rest of my life.
