9 Happy Things | A Whirlwind March

Happy Friday! I’m back! I can’t believe it’s been so long. I hadn’t meant to be away for so long, but March passed by so quickly and I was so busy.

This was mostly due to the fact that I travelled between four time zones and took 9 planes in the span of about 2 1/2 weeks. It was a crazy, fantastic blur!

In early March, I shared my plans of going to North America with the Brit, but sadly plans changed when the Brit’s grandfather passed away about a week before we were meant to fly. It meant the Brit cancelled his flight to be able to attend the funeral. It was a sad affair and I wasn’t able to attend unfortunately.

I went by myself to Canada, where I spent a relaxing week with my close family and attending my brother’s birthday – before spending a crazy week and a half in the USA.

Here are 9 of my highlights:

1 || Got reunited with my person. We hadn’t seen each other since 1 December 2013, the day after we graduated from St Andrews and it was a delight to spend a week together.

2 || Got my hair cut. Spur of the moment. Really short. But I love the change!

3 || Had my fair share of maple syrup. We went to the sugar shack and it was as delicious as I remembered. Pictured below – my lovely friend Nicole, a fellow foodie and blogger, who took the Brit’s spot at the sugar shack.

4 || Visited the beautiful campus of Pittsburgh. See #6.

5 || Added two new states to my roster – visiting Boulder, Denver and Estes Park in Colorado and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

6 || Presented a paper at a conference on gender at the University of Pittsburgh.

7 || Met up with my lovely parents for the first time since June last year – my mom even came down to Pittsburgh to see me present!

8 || Had a mini St Andrews reunion with two awesome girls – and we’re planning a five year reunion back in Scotland for 2018!

9 || And definitely got my taste of home back with me!

So much to be thankful for and so much happiness. I’m now back in Scotland and reunited with my lovely man, ready to tackle April!
